Rapper Sean Kingston’s net worth has been uncovered as the rapper has been sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for wire fraud alongside his mother Janice Eleanor Turne
Rapper Sean Kingston, legally Kisean Paul Anderson, faced a number of financial issues and lawsuits before he was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for wire fraud.
According to reports by Celebrity Net Worth, Sean is worth an estimated $400,000. The majority of his wealth stems from his professional rapping career which peaked in the mid-2000s.
On Friday, Aug. 15, it was announced that the 35-year-old singer was convicted by a federal jury of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts of wire fraud alongside his mother, Janice Eleanor Turner. Ahead of the sentencing decision, the Jamacia-born singer made many headlines over the years due to his financial woes.
According to reports after rising to fame by producing chart-topping hits like Beautiful Girls, Take You There, Fire Burning, Eenie Meenie, Sean’s bank account significantly dwindled by 2014. During this time, multiple of the rapper’s cars were repossessed due to Sean not meeting the cars’ monthly payments.
In this period of time, Sean had his Mercedes Benz G-Class SUV, Bentley, and Lamborghini taken away. Soon after, Sean was also accused by numerous jewelers of failing to pay for luxury items he purchased from them.
Numerous jewelers came forward with these claims including Aqua Master, Avi Da Jeweler, and Haimov Jewelers. These suits included claims of bounced checks, unpaid balances, and allegations of fraud.
At least one of these jewelers were not able to be financially compensated for their legal damages due to his dismal financial situation. In November 2015, Sean even claimed to have been kidnapped in Los Angeles over one jewelry dispute over a $225,000 watch.
According to reports by Celebrity Net Worth, in 2017 confirmed that he was running low on funds as he filed court documents that claimed he only had $500 in his bank account.
The mother-son duo were arrested in May 2024 after the rapper’s rented home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was raided by a SWAT team. It was later revealed that Sean would use social media to buy high-end products and then he and his mother would text the seller fake wire receipts for the merchandise.
In the end, the seller would often never get paid for their products and in total $1 million worth of expensive items were never accounted for. In connection to these crimes, Sean and his mother were brought to trial in March of 2025 and after three and a half hours of deliberation, the jury found them both guilty of wire fraud.
Now, Sean is being sent to three and a half years in prison. As for his mother Janice, she has been sentenced to five years in prison.
