A man who got stuck underground was found by a police deputy after he heard him asking for help underground
A man reported missing in Texas was found underground after a police deputy heard him calling for help from under the ground.
Firefighters in Edinburg, Texas, cut through concrete to rescue the man from a septic tank under the ground, according to reports. The 29-year-old was then taken to the local hospital, where he is in stable condition, local news outlets and the Edinburg Fire Department reported.
On August 8th, the males family called 911 for a welfare check around 9 a.m. as he had not been seen since 9 p.m. the night before, KVEO reported.
Once allowed access to search the familys property, a deputy did so and called out the mans name.
The deputy then heard a “faint voice coming from the ground, calling for help,” the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office stated, KVEO reported.
The deputy then followed the mans voice to a septic tank and found the man trapped under a tire inside the tank.
Our Edinburg firefighters jumped into action to assist with a rescue in county jurisdiction. A man fell through a small opening into a septic tank, the Edinburg Fire Department.
Firefighters cut through concrete and used rescue equipment to safely pull him out. The man was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Proud of our crews quick thinking and teamwork!
Firefighters reportedly arrived at 10:00 am to cut through the concrete and free the man.
After using rescue equipment to pull him out, he was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
While calling out the mans name, the deputy heard a faint voice coming from the ground, calling for help, the sheriffs office stated.
